How to add a Waterslide Decal on a Glitter Tumbler

How do you keep the rim clean?

It’s probably one of the questions I see the most when it comes to glitter cups. How do you keep the rim clean after adding epoxy. A lot of people use an exacto knife to scrape epoxy off after it has cured & that does help for final clean up, but keeping your rim clean throughout the different steps makes the whole process so much easier. Take a peak at how I clean up the rims on my glitter tumblers.

These types of make up wedges work great for cleaning the rim too

All the Pretty Things

My brain never stops.  It can be exhausting sometimes...but that also means new ideas are constantly flowing & new things to try keep lining up.  The latest adventure includes so much glitter & I love it!!  I have been creating custom glitter cups.  I had so much fun learning the techniques, that I recruited my dad to make a cup turner for me.  As that arrived on my doorstep this morning, you can only imagine all the things I have been creating.

I am still going strong with the laser & have taken so much pride in the work I have been making with that.  I absoluttely LOVE everything it is capable of doing...have you seen the new ornaments etched into wood??!?  I mean...swoon worthy for sure!  My husband has even taken a peak over and been amazed at some of the work I have done (keep in mind, he is usually a 'oh, that's nice' kinda guy, so any other reaction is totally awesome!).

Well friends.  I won't keep you long.  Just wanted to shoot over an update & let you know where things are on my end.   Interested in having something custom created?? Just send a message & I would love to see if it is something we can do.

Wedding Season is here

With each new year brings new styles & trends to be on the look out for.  As January rolls around, I have to switch modes from Christmas ornaments to new invitation & stationary styles.  I have spent the last few weeks looking through to see what is trending & this is a quick breakdown of what I found....

~Dusty Rose is the new 'Blush'. People are changing up that soft pink for the deeper dusty rose.  It pairs lovely with greens for a very earthy, woodsy feel.  Equally as gorgeous, pair it with a deep blue for a regal flair to the woodsy feel.

~ Geometrics are making an appearance in everything from wedding stationary to table decor.  Pair the geometric with floral or greenery for a perfect combination.

~ metals, marbles & acrylic.  It's all about the textures & the unexpected. Acrylic signs, transparent menu cards, Digital marble backgrounds for your understatedly elegant wedding stationary.....So much gorgeousnes!

As I researched the trends for this coming year, I was able to put my own spin on things to create new designs & offer brides a few options....I took the love of acrylic signs & transparent menus and created a translucent invitation.  I paired up the ever popular wine coloring with a slate blue lace.  I brought in amazing silk ribbons that are more luxurious and flowy than their satin counterparts.

I am so excited to see what this year has to offer and to see how lovelyrusticweddings can help you create the amazing stationary you are dreaming of!!

Just a few more hours.....please?

Truth: There are just never enough hours in the ever.  (I am sure so many others can relate)

Even with all I do work wise, I still consider myself a SAHM.  I am a mom to 5 kinda amazing boys & they sure keep me on the go.  This season has been the busiest, with my oldest in high school marching band, the next 2 in peewee football & the 2 youngest home with me all day......I feel like we may as well move into the car....and I absolutely LOVE it!  What I love most is that I get to work around THEIR schedule, something I couldn't do when I had a 'real' job, and something that I will never take for granted (and that is because of people like you, putting their faith in me to create stationary and mementos for their big events, so thank you for that!!)

I get asked often how I do what I do.  How do I parent 5 kids, get them everywhere they need to be & run a business.  Honestly, I don't think about it like that.  I look at what has to be done & just do it.  When you stand back and look at the big picture of all the tasks, you will get so overwhelmed, that you literally won't get anything don't do that.  Look at each task as it needs to be accomplished, work through that task, then move on to the next.  At the end of the day, pat yourself on the back and take pride in what you accomplished...kiss your babies goodnight & know that tomorrow brings a new opportunity to start again.....that is how I can do what I do.  So, no, there will never be enough hours in the day, but don't let that stop you from doing the very best you can & being proud of yourself for that!

Oh!!! and we cannot forget, I have a kinda fabulous hubs that does an amazing job at picking up on the areas that I just can't get to on certain his 5th day in a row of making dinner after coming home from working all day & working on laundry well into the night almost everyday of the week....yes...he is that awesome  <3
